I’ve had Jack Ladder And The Dreamlanders 2021 album Hijack! on high rotation over the past few days. Jack’s baritone voice executes heart felt lyrics that closely examine various aspects of the human condition that shift from despair and loss to joy and overcoming. Sonically, like almost every other album that ends up on my playlist, this is uniquely its own style with a mix of jangling, slow guitars and sparing use of electronic elements to create a deep and ethereal sound that complements the lyrics down to a tee.
